Daily Photography Gear News & Reviews Roundup – Oct. 23

Seattle newspaper photographer Bettina Hansen shares her impressions of the new Canon 7D Mark II with DPReview. Short version: better than the (for her) impossible 7D, but she’ll stick with the full-frame 1Dx and the 5D Mark III. Important point: she didn’t have to pay for her 1Dx.

The Photography Blog is crunching out the reviews. Today we get the Canon PowerShot SX60 HS. It’s gets another Highly Recommended rating, though actually reading the conclusion it makes you wonder why.

The site also reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5. Another ‘Highly Recommended.’ This time the conclusion actually supports that rating. Still, expensive at $900.

The Phoblographer reviews the Rokinon 8mm f/2.8 fisheye II lens for Fujifilm X cameras. Gets four out of five stars.
